Privacy Policy

Money Matters on FIRE ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance and FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) planning application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how your privacy is protected. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The App has no user accounts and no login. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal or financial information on any server we control. Everything you enter is kept locally on your device.

Data you enter, stored only on your device

• Profile details you choose to add (such as name, age, income, and expenses)
• Your holdings — mutual funds, stocks, cryptocurrency, gold, fixed deposits, property, and other assets
• Liabilities, financial goals, and retirement/withdrawal planning inputs
• App settings and preferences (theme, currency, refresh options)

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any identity data on our servers.
• We do not collect your bank login, passwords, card numbers, or payment credentials.
• We do not use analytics or crash-tracking SDKs that identify you.
• We do not use advertising networks, cookies, or cross-app tracking.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

3. Internet Use & Third-Party Market Data

The App connects to the internet only to retrieve current market data so your portfolio can be valued. When it does, it sends a public identifier (such as a mutual fund ISIN, a stock symbol, or a crypto symbol) to the relevant data provider to look up a price. It does not send your name, quantities held, portfolio totals, or any personal information.

Providers the App may contact include:

• Mutual fund NAVs: AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India) and MFAPI
• Stocks: public market-data endpoints (e.g. Yahoo Finance, NSE)
• Cryptocurrency: public price APIs (e.g. Binance, CoinGecko)
• Gold & currency: public commodity and foreign-exchange rate APIs

These are independent services governed by their own privacy policies. We do not control them and share no personal data with them.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

The App offers an optional premium subscription. All purchases and billing are handled entirely by the Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your payment method, card details, or billing address — Google Play manages that under its own privacy policy. The App only reads your subscription status from Google Play to unlock premium features.

5. Permissions

• Internet & network state: to fetch market prices and check connectivity. No personal data is transmitted.
• Storage / files: only when you choose to import or export a CSV or a backup file. Files are read and written locally on your device at your request.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in the App's private, sandboxed storage on your device, which other apps cannot read. Because your information never leaves your device (except the anonymous price lookups described above), it is not exposed to server-side breaches. We recommend enabling your device's screen lock (PIN, pattern, or biometrics) for additional protection.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally, we have no access to it and cannot retain or delete it on your behalf. You are in full control:

• Edit or delete individual entries at any time within the App.
• Export your data to a CSV or backup file for your own records.
• Delete everything by uninstalling the App or clearing its data in your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adults managing personal finances and retirement planning. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

9. Your Rights

Because your data lives only on your device, you already have complete access, correction, export, and deletion control directly within the App. If you have questions about your privacy, contact us using the details below.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and posted at this same URL. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
